Healthy ecosystems filter water, store carbon, support biodiversity, buffer floods and drought, and provide food, shelter, and movement corridors for wildlife.
We use the best available science to manage and restore all of our conservation lands. Our staff, including scientists and land managers, consult and work with regional biologists and contractors to ensure best practices are the cornerstone of our work and that we stay well-versed in emerging methods and technologies.
Our work is careful, ongoing, and guided by science. It requires detailed planning, expert implementation, long-term monitoring, thoughtful adaptation, and ongoing stewardship.
BC’s lands and waters have been shaped by decades of development, altered water flows, fire suppression, and other human pressures, as well as the introduction of invasive species. Our restoration efforts help ecosystems recover their natural functions, creating cleaner water, healthier soils, and better habitat for fish, birds, pollinators, and other wildlife.
Working alongside First Nations, local communities, governments, conservation organizations, and funders, we carry out restoration projects that are rooted in place, guided by science and local knowledge, and built for long-term stewardship.
